Flu Relief Herbal Tea

This immune-boosting, antiviral, and soothing tea blend helps reduce fever, ease congestion, and support recovery from the flu.


Ingredients (per cup):

  • 1 teaspoon Elderberries (Sambucus nigra) – Antiviral and boosts immune function
  • 1 teaspoon Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea) – Strengthens the immune system
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger root (Zingiber officinale) – Reduces inflammation, fights infection, and soothes nausea
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) – Calms the nervous system and fights viruses
  • ½ teaspoon Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) – Soothes sore throats and supports lung health
  • ½ teaspoon Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) – Warming, antiviral, and helps reduce fever
  • 1 teaspoon Honey (optional, for taste and extra soothing effects)
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions:

  1. Combine the Herbs:
    • Mix all the dried herbs together in a small bowl.
    • Store in an airtight container for future use.
  2. Brew the Tea:
    • Place 1 tablespoon of the tea blend in a teapot or infuser.
    • Pour 1 cup of boiling water over the herbs.
    • Cover and steep for 15–20 minutes.
  3. Strain & Serve:
    • Strain out the herbs and drink warm.
    • Add honey for extra soothing benefits.

How to Use:

  • Drink 3–4 cups daily during the flu to help ease symptoms and speed recovery.
  • For prevention, drink 1 cup daily during flu season.

Alternative Additions:

  • Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) – Helps with coughs and respiratory infections.
  • Peppermint (Mentha × piperita) – Clears congestion and relieves headaches.
  • Turmeric (Curcuma longa) – Fights inflammation and supports immunity.

Precautions:

  • Licorice root can raise blood pressure—limit intake if you have hypertension.
  • Always consult a healthcare provider before use, especially if pregnant, nursing, or taking medications.
