Intensive Liver Detox Herbal Tea

This stronger liver detox tea helps deeply cleanse the liver, promote bile production, and flush out toxins more effectively. It is best used for short-term cleansing (7–14 days) rather than daily long-term use.

Ingredients (per cup):

  • 1 teaspoon Dandelion root (Taraxacum officinale) – Stimulates bile production and detoxifies the liver
  • 1 teaspoon Burdock root (Arctium lappa) – Supports blood purification and liver function
  • 1 teaspoon Milk Thistle seeds (Silybum marianum) – Regenerates liver cells and protects against toxins
  • 1 teaspoon Oregon Grape root (Mahonia aquifolium) – Enhances liver enzyme function and bile production
  • ½ teaspoon Schisandra berries (Schisandra chinensis) – Aids liver detoxification and protects against oxidative stress
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric root (Curcuma longa) – Reduces liver inflammation and supports detox pathways
  • ½ teaspoon Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) – Soothes the digestive tract and supports liver function
  • ½ teaspoon Ginger root (Zingiber officinale) – Enhances circulation and digestion
  • ½ teaspoon Peppermint leaves (Mentha × piperita) – Supports bile flow and soothes digestion
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions:

  1. Combine the Herbs:
    • Mix all dried herbs together and store in an airtight container.
  2. Brew the Tea:
    • Place 1 tablespoon of the tea blend in a teapot or infuser.
    • Pour 1 cup of boiling water over the herbs.
    • Cover and steep for 15–20 minutes for maximum extraction.
  3. Strain & Serve:
    • Strain out the herbs and drink warm.
    • Optional: Add lemon juice to enhance detoxification.

How to Use:

  • Drink 1 cup in the morning and 1 in the evening for 7–14 days.
  • Follow with plenty of water and fiber-rich foods to aid toxin elimination.
  • If detox symptoms (fatigue, mild headaches) appear, reduce to 1 cup per day.

Alternative Additions:

  • Nettle leaves (Urtica dioica) – Supports kidney function and flushes toxins.
  • Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) – Improves circulation and metabolism.
  • Lemon peel – Enhances liver enzyme activity and detox power.

Precautions:

  • Not for long-term use—use for detox periods only (7–14 days).
  • Avoid during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
  • Milk Thistle and Oregon Grape root may interact with medications—check with a healthcare provider before use.
  • If you have gallbladder disease, bile duct obstruction, or liver conditions, consult your doctor before starting.
